a day in subic

last week, the product of our company received good reviews from pc magazine and pc world. because of that, they decided to celebrate -- thus, the "outing" at subic bay. our first stop was ocean adventure, where we watched the dolphins and whales show as well as the sea lions show. we also checked out the cool aquariums and the park's gift shop. after spending half a day in the park, we then transferred to camayan beach resort where we ate lunch, relaxed, played beach volleyball, gambled, and just had fun. :) after that, we went to a restaurant (i forgot the name) where we had dinner, gambled (again) and sang the night away. ;) check out photos here. enjoy! :D

What It Takes To Be A Good Friend
by Jwbrnco1
from Passions in Poetry

A good friend is always kind,
Should always speak their mind,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

A good friend is there for you,
They are real, they are true- blue,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

A good friend will be there when you marry,
A heart full of memories, they will carry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

They'll be there if your mother dies,
They'll weep with you when you cry,
Their compassion should never end,
That's what it takes to be a good friend.

If a good friend you do find,
Make sure they treat you kind,
Understanding they shouldn't lack,
And they would never stab you in the back,
On top of everything always remember,
A best friend is forever.

"change upon change"

i was browsing through my stuff the other night, and i stumbled upon this poem which was forwarded to me by my good friend amz:

------------------------------------
change upon change
by elizabeth barrett browning

five months ago the stream did flow,
the lilies bloomed within the sedge,
and we were lingering to and fro,
where none will track thee in this snow,
along the stream, beside the hedge.
ah, sweet, be free to love and go!
for if I do not hear thy foot,
the frozen river is as mute,
the flowers have dried down to the root:
and why, since these be changed since may,
shouldst thou change less than they.

and slow, slow as the winter snow
the tears have drifted to mine eyes;
and my poor cheeks, five months ago
set blushing at thy praises so,
put paleness on for a disguise.
ah, sweet, be free to praise and go!
for if my face is turned too pale,
it was thine oath that first did fail, --
it was thy love proved false and frail, --
and why, since these be changed enow,
should I change less than thou.
------------------------------------

attached to this poem was a letter, wherein i would never forget what she said: "you cannot fix something that doesn't want to be fixed". with this statement, memories came flooding back to me... the events and situations that happened which caused me pain and led her to say what she said. and then i thought, "wow! that was like eons ago!"

* sigh *

memories... memories...
